Harriet Beecher Stowe: Uncle Tom’s Cabin and the Dominion of Conscience - Presented by Kim Hanley. In 1852 Harriet Beecher Stowe published her novel Uncle Tom’s Cabin, or Life Among the Lowly. It energized anti-slavery forces in the American North, while provoking widespread anger in the pro-slavery South.
